Top 3 Reasons Why Water is the Essence of Life

Up to 60 percent of the human body is water. Thus, water enables proper physiological functions:

  • Elimination of waste products via urine and feces

  • Immune function

  • Joint lubrication

  • Liver and kidney function

  • Lymphatic function

  • Muscle function

  • Production of hormones and neurotransmitters

  • Regulation of body temperature via perspiration

  • Respiration

  • Skin maintenance

It's no surprise that dehydration takes a toll on your internal balance and impairs your body. Yet, these effects were not known until the late 1970s. Then, Dr. Fereydoon Batmanghelidj began studying the healing effects of water. He was a political prisoner in an Iranian prison during this time. Dr. Batmanghelidj treated a prisoner suffering from peptic ulcers with water. The prisoner was pain-free for the four months that remained of his sentence. This breakthrough led Dr. Batmanghelidj to treat more than 3,000 cases of peptic ulcers. After serving his sentence, he treated many other conditions with water. Conditions such as:

  • Addictive urges related to alcohol, caffeine, and various drugs

  • Anxiety, depression, and stress

  • Arthritis

  • Asthma

  • Attention-deficit disorder in both adults and children

  • Back, joint, and muscle pain

  • Blood clots

  • Constipation and diarrhea

  • Edema

  • Gastrointestinal problems

  • Glaucoma

  • Heart disease

  • High blood pressure

  • Hot flashes

  • Impotence and loss of libido

  • Insomnia and other sleep disorders

  • Kidney stones

  • Lupus

  • Memory problems

  • Morning sickness during pregnancy

  • Premenstrual syndrome

  • Respiratory and sinus problems

  • Urinary tract infections

Dr. Batmanghelidj's discovery coined the term chronic dehydration. Which is the state the body cannot carry out physiological activities efficiently. All due to an inadequate amount of water. Also, remember that you lose water through the course of physiological activities. Chronic dehydration occurs when you neglect to compensate for this natural water loss. The average adult loses about three to four quarts of water per day due to:

  • Breathing

  • Perspiration

  • Urination

  • Defecation

I used to suffer from chronic dehydration. I did not even know it but was suffering from many symptoms related to it. The problem was that I was drinking over a gallon a day. So why was I still dehydrated? Because I was not absorbing the water I was drinking. That's when I decided to switch my water. I turned to drinking alkaline ionized water or electrically reduced water. This kind of water is clean, alkaline, antioxidant-rich, and super hydrating.
