How Ionized Water Delivers Oxygen to your Body and Improves your Health

How does your water affect oxygenation in the body?

By keeping your blood in its normal pH range of 7.35 and 7.45. The problem is most waters are acidic and contain chemicals. That's when alkaline ionized water comes in. Its alkalinity and hydrating properties keep your blood's pH in its optimal range.

The blood's optimal pH range is between 7.35 and 7.45. Your body tends to keep the pH at 7.4. As the blood becomes acidic, the brain stimulates faster and deeper breathing. This increases the amount of carbon dioxide exhaled. The kidneys also excrete more acid in the urine. If the cycle continues, it leads to severe acidosis. If severe acidosis continues, it may lead to hear problems and a state of coma.

Another concern with acidic blood is the oxygen-hemoglobin dissociation curve. Hemoglobin in red cells carries oxygen to the cells. Acidic blood does not release or dissociate oxygen from the hemoglobin. When this happens, oxygen does not reach the cells. Thus, cells lose the ability to repair themselves and get rid of waste.

As blood acidity increases, hydrogen ions (H+) bind to hemoglobin amino acids. This lessens hemoglobin's affinity to oxygen. Thus, the oxygen saturation of hemoglobin decreases. This means less oxygen reaches the cells. In contrast, as blood alkalinity increase, more oxygen binds with hemoglobin. Thus, oxygen saturation of hemoglobin increases. This means more oxygen reaches the cells.

And why do we care about oxygen so much? Every cell in your body needs oxygen to function. Your cells use oxygen to get energy from the food you eat. Without oxygen, cell lose the ability to repair themselves and get rid of waste. You feel fatigued along with other symptoms.

Oxygen deficiency causes common infections and serious illnesses like cancer. Other common issues caused by low oxygen supply are:

  • Sleep problems

  • Mood disorders

  • High blood pressure

  • Alzheimer's disease

Any given person will suffer brain damage after 4 minutes without oxygen. Death can occur as soon as 4 to 6 minutes later. In contrast, any given person may survive up to 3 days without water. This highlights the importance of oxygen to the human body. Oxygen fuels your internal functions. This means you need oxygen for:

  • Your lungs to expand and contract as they push oxygen in and carbon dioxide out

  • Your heart pumps blood flow throughout the body

  • Your stomach to digest food

  • And much more

Oxygen is essential not only for survival but also for optimal functioning of the body. You must have an adequate supply at all times. Here are some common signs of insufficient oxygen levels:

  • Circulation problems

  • Depression

  • Digestive problems

  • Dizziness

  • Fatigue

  • Infections

  • Memory loss

  • Muscle aches

  • Poor concentration

  • Susceptibility to illness such as colds and the flu

Along with these signs, there are medical issues as well. Immunity, cognitive function, cardiovascular health are among these. Furthermore, the body's ability to fight cancer is also affected.
